Indeed, WriterZen provides tools to help with all parts of building solid content. From keyword research to writing articles, and everything in between, they leave no stone unturned.
Like most modern SEO tools, WriterZen is available as a web application.
To really appreciate all that WriterZen can do, though, we need to dig in to its key features.
WriterZen Review: Key Features
WriterZen’s key features can be broken out into two broad categories: keyword research and content creation.
You can start anywhere in the process, but WriterZen is designed to help manage your content pipeline from beginning to end.
It all starts with their Topic Discovery feature.
The Topic Discovery tool lets you start with a broad topic and quickly decide whether it’s right for your project.
Just enter your top-level keyword, and Topic Discovery shows you the monthly search volume for that phrase, as well as 99 other related keywords.
For each one, you’ll see titles and links to the top few search engine results.
Click on the “Show ideas” dropdown for any keyword, and Topic Discovery generates possible article headlines for you to consider, along with a relevancy score (High, Medium, Low).
As you can see above, this screen also shows Google Suggest Insights and Related Google Searches. Both of those can be rich sources of additional topics or keyword ideas.
All in all, Topic Discovery gives you a quick overview of possible pillar topics for your blog and articles. This can be super valuable if you’re just starting a new site, or if you’re trying to expand into new content areas.
Once you’ve decided on a main topic to tackle, you can hop over to the Keyword Explorer.
This is a fairly typical research tool, where you type in your keyword, and Keyword Explorer displays details about that search term.
Here you’ll find information about search volume, cost-per-click (CPC) for advertising, and the top search results for your keyword:
There are also charts showing search volume over time and Google Trends data for your keyword.
Scroll down a bit, and you land on the Keyword Data section.
The Keyword Data table is the heart of WriterZen’s keyword research. Here you’ll find information like search volume and trends, CPC for your key phrase, and several related keywords.

The Keyword Difficulty (KD) score gives you a broad-brush look at how difficult it is to rank for a particular search term.
Like any sort of ranking metric, the WriterZen KD isn’t perfect, but it helps you avoid super-competitive keywords and target those where you have a better chance of ranking well.
So far in this WriterZen review, we’ve seen features you can find in plenty of other tools.
But if you’re looking for sure-bet keywords (who isn’t?), WriterZen offers up something else that hardly any other competitors do.
For paid accounts, the WriterZen Keyword Data tab includes two additional columns: Allintitle and GoldenScore.
The Allintitle column shows the number of search results that contain all of the words in your key phrase somewhere in their article titles. It’s a well-known rough measure of how well a blog post meets searcher intent.
The GoldenScore is based on the Keyword Golden Ratio, or KGR, a method of keyword research. Popularized by Doug Cunnington of Niche Site Project, KGR is a keyword research research method based on allintitle results and overall search volume.
You can definitely use KGR without any tools except Google and a search volume estimator, but it’s a pretty handy feature to have right at your fingertips in an all-in-one tool like WriterZen.
Keyword Import and Topic Clusters
WriterZen also lets you import lists of keywords generated outside the tool, either by copy-and-pasting them into a form or by uploading a CSV file.
Once you have a list of target topics, you can use the Topic Cluster feature to beef up your SEO. Specifically, this tool groups your keywords based on the top 10 search results for each topic.
This gives you a good idea of which combination of keywords Google expects to see for each broader topic.
Then you can make sure your content loops in all parts of the most relevant keyword cluster.
After you’ve found a keyword you want to focus on, you can create your article right inside WriterZen using the Content Creator.
To start, you enter your keyword and some information about your article, like due date, a brief note of intent, and its priority.
Then, WriterZen returns an overview of the articles ranking for that keyword, including the average number of words, headings, paragraphs, and images that each includes.
From there, you supply a title and start writing, either on your own or using the AI Assistant (see discussion below).
Then, as you write, Content Creator keeps track of how your blog post stacks up to the competition in terms of word count, keyword usage, headings, paragraphs, and images:

The built-in AI Assistant can help you with several different content-creation tasks, including

- Complete paragraphs from a prompt
- Rewriting blocks of text
You can access the AI Assistant from several places within the application, but the handiest is a toggle available from the editor. Click that, and the AI Assistant pops out from the side
Each function of the AI Assistant offers multiple templates to get you started.
Overall, the text generated by this content writer isn’t yet quite at the level of what you’ll find with Jasper or ChatGPT. But it’s definitely a good feature to get you over the hump when you’re stuck for a content idea.
Having it built into your content research tool and editor is also really handy.
As is the case with other parts of the content creation process, WriterZen provides a built-in plagiarism checker. With one click of the button, you can make sure yours is original and not copied from other parts of the web.
For the examples I tried, this WriterZen tool seems to do a pretty decent job of catching big blocks of copied text, but there were some misses, too.
Like the AI Assistant, the WriterZen Plagiarism Checker is a feature that will hopefully improve over time.
One feature of WriterZen that could be useful for collaboration is the Team Function. This option allows you to buy team “seats” under one account so that you can share documents and ideas with your collaborators.
WriterZen Review: Pricing
WriterZen offers three basic subscription levels:
The Basic plan gives you access to all WriterZen features except the “Team” functions. Each tool is subject to usage limits, though, like a maximum of 50 keyword lookups per day and 5000 words written by the AI tool per month.
Pricing is $27 per month.
The Standard subscription level gives you everything in the Basic package, but with service limits bumped up to 75 keyword lookups per day and 8000 AI words per month.
The Standard package costs $41 per month.
The Advanced package gives you access to every feature of WriterZen, with even higher monthly limits, including 150 daily keyword lookups and 15,000 monthly AI-generated words.
Advanced also includes two seats to the Team function.
The cost is $69 per month.
WriterZen offers a 30% discount on any subscription level if you pay for a year upfront.
Add-Ons and Credits
You can also buy access to WriterZen’s AI Assistant for $99 per month, which gets you unlimited content generation.
Member seats for the Team functionality are available for $23 apiece per month, regardless of your subscription level.
Finally, you can use the Keyword Credit option to purchase search credits a la carte at $19 for 20,000, or NLP credits at $19 for 60.
The good news is that you can try out most of WriterZen’s features for free with their 7-day trial.
The trial limits how many times you can use each tool, and it excludes some features, like the Allintitle operator. Overall, though, you can get a pretty good feel for WriterZen’s capabilities.

As we’ve seen in this WriterZen review, this application brings a lot to the table. But there are plenty of other all-in-one SEO content tools that can help with your content marketing, too.
Here are some of the best:
Surfer SEO is one of the best and most popular on-page SEO software tools on the market. It matches WriterZen pretty much feature–for-feature, though without the GoldenScore.
Surfer pricing plans start at $49 a month and are based on the number of articles you can edit per year (120 at the lowest pricing level).
Like WriterZen, Surfer SEO offers a free trial, and their Chrome extension for keyword research is free for anyone to use.
With a focus on figuring out primary user intent, Frase helps you discover important keywords related to your main article topics and then put together a strong outline.
Frase also features an AI writer that limits you to 4000 words per month for most plans, though you can buy a premium unlimited package. The Frase SEO content research tool is also part of the upgrade.
Plans start at $14.99 a month for help with four articles, up to $114.99 a month for unlimited articles. You get a discount if you pay for a year upfront.
The upgraded Pro Add-On costs $35 per month.
SEMRush is one of the top all-in-one SEO tools on the market. It’s tough to beat when it comes to keyword and competitor research, and it’s definitely more advanced than WriterZen in both of those areas.
SEMRush falls short of WriterZen when it comes to AI content generation and a built-in KGR tool, though.
WriterZen is also way more affordable than its more seasoned counterpart, as SEMRush pricing starts at $119.95 per month and goes up from there.
